Pad Thai Noodles with Shrimp

Pad Thai Noodles with Shrimp

I love Pad Thai noodles and always wanted to make it at home, but it was hard to find the Tamarind paste in my local supermarket, which is the sauce that gives Pad Thai its distinctive sweet and sour taste, so I replaced Tamarind paste with ingredients you can easily find to imitate the same flavor, so now you can make your own Pad Thai noodles at home.

  • Pad Thai Noodle (8 oz)
  • Shrimp (20 peeled)
  • Egg (2 beaten)
  • Scallions (3 diced)
  • Cilantro (1 cup of leaves picked from stems)
  • Bean Sprouts (2 cups)
  • Peanuts (1/4 cup, roughly chopped)
  • Garlic (3 cloves)

Wow Moon, this sounds very good. I might have to miss the chili pepper though. I might also like to add crab or scallop if I ever want to change the shrimp.
Would you like a delicious dessert to have after this? I was thinking of chocolate covered strawberries – yum. Sounds like a yummy lunch or dinner. What do you think?

Hi Geoff…I get why chili pepper seems intimidating but it’s not hot like you think in this recipe, and without it, you will not get the tanginess of Pad Thai sauce. Chocolate covered strawberries for dessert would always be a good dessert after any meal! And yours look delicious!
